Starting with a conventional graphic design of a chosen subject matter, Allan transforms the illustration in to connecting irregular shaped pieces. These colorful shapes are then physically cut from rolls of adhesive vinyl, the kind often used in high-end commercial applications, to create sheets of puzzle-like pieces. Then he meticulously and patiently hand-lays each piece on to a solid backing material, one-by-one, to create artwork with a truly unique look and feel that surprises everyone when they learn what it’s really made of.
